Unlikely Heroes – The Demoniac

Join us as we step onto the distant shores of the Gerasenes in Luke 8 and witness Jesus confront a man possessed by a legion of demons. With a word, Christ’s authority shatters the grip of 6,000 unclean spirits and restores this tormented outcast to his right mind. He then sends him back into the very region he lived in as a living testimony of God’s power and mercy. This former demoniac becomes the first missionary to the Gentiles, proclaiming what Jesus had done long before Paul or the Great Commission. As we walk through this story we are invited to see our own bondage and freedom in Christ and to recognize that the very places of our deepest brokenness are often where God most wants to use us to bring hope and healing to others.
